Vetiver Oil India Vetiveria zizanoides

  • Description

Vetivert oil Co2 Chrysopogon zizaniodies is unlike of other Vetiver oils in the market, Vetiver oil CO2 has no smoke odor due to the lower temperature and shorter processing time of Supercritical CO2 Extraction. The odor can be described as sweet, creamy, woody, refined and balsamic.

Moreover, the color is very refined as well. This is because of the lower temperature causes less deterioration of thermally liable components and the better selectivity of CO2 as a solvent results in little to no residue in the final product.

Indian vetiver largely grows in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. It thrives in sandy, well-drained soils with hot climates and moderate rainfall. The root of the plant undergoes prolonged steam distillation to yield earthy, smoky vetiver oil. It is widely used in perfumery, aromatherapy, cooling applications, tobacco flavours, and vetiveryl acetate production, which is a semi-synthetic fragrance compound.

The harvesting season for Indian vetiver has concluded and the market depends on limited carry over stock. The supply situation is stable but tight as no fresh arrivals will enter the market before March. Limited volumes are being traded as the domestic market is being influenced by export fluctuations. There is uncertainty in export scheduling due to logistical challenges like tariff-related delays. Additionally, the political instability in Haiti, which is a major global producer, has tightened international supply. This has indirectly shifted focus on the Indian market with their strong price levels. Prices are expected to remain steady until the next harvest.

    Market prices : USD 360.00 /kilo
