Mace Oil
Mace is the lacy aril surrounding nutmeg seed. It is derived from the tropical evergreen plant Myristica fragrans.
Mace oil is distilled from dried mace and is prized for its more refined and delicate aroma compared to nutmeg. It offers spicy yet slightly floral notes. It is used in high-end perfumery for creating elegant, warm compositions. It is also used in flavouring fine foods, particularly sauces, confectionery, and beverages. Demand has been strong enough to absorb available volumes. Favourable rainfall has improved yield and carry-forward stock has been released as well.
Further stock entering the market could create an oversupply situation. Prices have eased marginally under current conditions of higher availability.
