    Fennel, scientifically known as Foeniculum vulgare, is native to the Mediterranean region and southwestern Asia. It is cultivated across Eastern Europe in sunny, well-drained soils, particularly sandy or loamy fields with a neutral to slightly alkaline pH. The plant prefers Mediterranean to temperate continental climates, with hot summers and mild autumns aiding seed development. Steam distillation of crushed fennel seeds produces an oil with a sweet, spicy, and anise-like aroma. P

    roduct this season did not match the higher volumes of 2024 though fennel oil is available and supply is adequate. Oil price also remains stable.
