Eucalyptus Smithii Oil
Eucalyptus smithii thrives in South Africa’s temperate regions, particularly in areas with deep, well drained soils and cool, moist climates. The oil, obtained through steam distillation of fresh leaves, has a mild, fresh, cineole-rich aroma that is softer than globulus or radiata. Aided by increased investment and production, the product has become more competitive on the global stage. There has been a consistent demand for eucalyptus smithii, though it has not increased dramatically. Certain buyers were diverted towards the Ex Camphor 80% variety, which entered the market at lower prices. However, massive fluctuations in quality have led many users to return to eucalyptus smithii.
