Cedarwood Atlas oil is a hallmark of Moroccan forestry, and a prime example of the country’s rich biodiversity. It is extracted from the wood of Cedrus atlantica, an evergreen tree native to Morocco’s Atlas Mountains. These cedars thrive in mountainous regions with well drained sandy or rocky soils and a temperate to semi-arid climate, with cool winters and warm, dry summers.

The wood is steam distilled to produce an oil with a warm, woody, balsamic aroma. The oil is said to have a grounding effect and is slightly sweet. Atlas cedarwood oil is widely used in perfumery for its fixative properties and deep woody base notes. In aromatherapy, it is valued for calming and grounding effects, making it a popular choice in meditation blends. The oil is also used in natural insect  repellents ,cosmetics, and haircare products. It is particularly popular for its scalp-balancing qualities. Raw material price is stable.
